If you know me and my brother, than you’d know that we haven’t got each other Christmas gifts for many years. It’s been an unsaid, mutual understanding that has been the way for many years, but this year I decided to break the tradition.
My brother is moving to the Midwest, where he will continue his career alongside his blue line family. He always enjoyed his times hunting and fishing in Arizona, but would always tell me that he didn’t have the time or didn’t have the gear, though he always had the desire.
My goal was to change the “didn’t have the gear” excuse. His new living location will not only be a few miles from bass fishing lakes, but incredible ones at that.
I started collecting tackle many months ago; I’d go through my monthly tackle subscriptions and would choose what I wanted to give him. It was a pack of hooks here, a bag of soft plastics there, etc…
I had a few objectives for this gift. First, I wanted to cover a broad spectrum of bass fishing techniques. Specifically, I wanted to cover Texas rigs, dropshotting, Ned rigs, jig fishing, wacky rigs, and more. Next, I wanted this gear to be as high quality as possible. There’d be no way that I would be able to fill a tackle box of Lucky Craft lures for him, but I wanted to be close.
Months later, I had a decent collection of tackle, but wanted to make a few additions. Specifically, I wanted to add some high quality crank baits – 6th Sense is what I had in mind. This company has some of the highest quality cranks for the money, and it’s what I wanted to finish the box.
After multiple different store visits, I found 6th Sense cranks, and bought 3 for him and 1 for me. This concluded the box of tackle, of which contained the following:
